Study 36 – CHRIST’S IRREFUTABLE REVELATION ON MAN’S FUTURE

Text – Mark 9:42-49; Matthew 24:35; 17:5; Acts 3:22-23

The words of our Lord Jesus Christ are weighty, have eternal, unending effect, abide and remain, though heaven and earth may pass away. They are final faithful and full Gospel and Revelation that the Heavenly Father has for us and has given us. No other pastor, preacher, teacher revealed the subject we have read like He did, because He has first-hand knowledge as God and Son of God that has been from all eternity. He has come to: (i) reverse the curse; (ii) take the consequence of the Fall of man away from us and give us redemption; (iii) To save us from eternal damnation, doom, destruction. He came specially to reveal the mind of God to us and we all need to pay special attention because they are true, valid, unchanging, remain and abide for ever. There are that gloss over this passage because they cannot fathom this revelation as being real and true, but Jesus Christ revealed this word of God and its truthfulness and faithfulness will abide forever. The wise will pay attention for it shall be fulfilled, “Heaven and earth shall pass away, but my words shall not pass away” (Matthew 24:35). Everything we see on earth now shall pass away, but the word and revelation of God abides and remains forever. Even for those who don’t believe this word of God, it is going to be fulfilled on them too. “While he yet spake, behold, a bright cloud overshadowed them: and behold a voice out of the cloud, which said, This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased; hear ye him” (Matthew 17:5). That is the Heavenly Father telling us to look at Jesus Christ, His only begotten Son and hear Him on all that He talks about – Hell, Heaven, Redemption, Truth from Heaven, and all the teachings in the word, we need to hear and be taught by Him. As we accept His word, blessing will be upon our lives.  There are some who only come to Bible Study when we are talking about faith, but will not come when it is about Heaven, Hell and Eternal Judgement. Such are losers for the Lord God said whatever Christ says, hell, heaven, faith; ‘hear ye Him’. Every word of Jesus is important. “For Moses truly said unto the fathers, A prophet shall the Lord your God raise up unto you of your brethren, like unto me; him shall ye hear in all things whatsoever he shall say unto you” (Acts 3:22). We are to hear Christ on whatever He talks about. That is why we have expository and systematic study the Bible from chapter to chapter, verse to verse in our Church. As we hear, learn, obey and follow the direction He is leading we will not perish in Jesus Name.

The Lord is talking about man’s future; a great revelation that many are not talking about, yet it is irrefutable, undebatable and indisputable.

3 points:

Point 1. THE DECEPTIVE STUMBLING-BLOCKS OF TEMPTERS’ OFFENCE

Mark 9:42; Proverbs 28:10; Ezekiel 13:22,23; Malachi 2:8-9; Romans 14:13,21; Revelations 2:14; Galatians 1:6-9

The offence coming from thoughtless, deceptive tempters who do not understand the consequence and judgement of their temptation; they put stumbling blocks in the path of true believers. “And whosoever shall offend one of these little ones that believe in me,” (Mark 9:42). “These little ones” are babes in Christ, new converts with little understanding and knowledge; and anyone who comes with whatever intention or purpose to mislead such to sinful character and defilement. “Whoso causeth the righteous to go astray in an evil way, he shall fall himself into his own pit: but the upright shall have good things in possession” (Proverbs 28:10). You will not deceive anybody. There will be judgement for anyone who takes joy in deceiving and discouraging new converts from being righteous and holy, and make sinners remain in their sin. “But ye are departed out of the way; ye have caused many to stumble at the law; ye have corrupted the covenant of Levi, saith the LORD of hosts” (Malachi 2:8). Those who distract others from concentrating on what will take them to heaven, cause them to go astray, make them stumble at the word of God; Jesus says “it is better for him that a millstone were hanged about his neck, and he were cast into the sea”. There are consequences for making people compromise and become offensive unto God (Malachi 2:9). “Let us not therefore judge one another any more: but judge this rather, that no man put a stumblingblock or an occasion to fall in his brother’s way” (Romans 14:13). We are to judge and examine ourselves to be sure that we are not making others fall. Anything, however small, that will make your brother fall into sin, it is best not to get involved in such. Value the words of the Lord Jesus Christ, and you will not lead anyone astray in Jesus Name. “I marvel that ye are so soon removed from him that called you into the grace of Christ unto another gospel” (Galatians 1:6). The Galatians were converted, but some people had gone to lead them astray from the true gospel. You will not listen to people that will cause you to go astray from the Lord. You will not listen to or respect anybody that will cause you to dishonour the Lord. Heaven and the glory of God will be the priority of your life.

Point 2. OUR DEFINITE SEPARATION FROM TEMPTING OBJECTS

Mark 9:43-48; Matthew 5:29-30; 18:8,9; 1 John 5:18

If there are objects that tempt, distract, make us fall, sin, or turn us away from the direction of heaven and into the way of hell, we have the responsibility and duty to cut off from such. The Lord has gone to prepare a place for you, and anything or anyone that will want to distract you from the way to heaven into hell, you will say No, and will not follow anybody to hell. “And if thy hand offend thee, cut it off: it is better for thee to enter into life maimed, than having two hands to go into hell, into the fire that never shall be quenched” (Mark 9:43). The Lord is not talking about our literal hand here, {because at the time of Jesus, we did not hear of anyone that heard Him, cutting off their hand}, but about somebody or anything that is as useful, skilful and profitable for earthly progress and wants you to compromise and disregard the word of God; he may be as powerful and useful as your hand, always permanent, cut such off. Likewise, the foot, not literal: whoever helps you make progress, make your dreams fulfilled, but will put pressure on you to compromise and not stand on holiness, but do things that will hinder you from getting to heaven – cut him off. Forget the dream and progress and hold on to heaven.  Getting to heaven should be the priority of your life.  It is better to die of hunger go to heaven, than to have all the food and go to hell. Separate, determine and decide that your help will come from God and as you have faith in God, you will not die of hunger. Don’t sympathise with messengers of Satan who have come to drag you into hell. Those living in sin, rebellion and disobedience are not children of God – cut them off. No one will destroy the grace of God made available at Calvary. “And if thine eye offend thee, pluck it out: it is better for thee to enter into the kingdom of God with one eye, than having two eyes to be cast into hell fire” (Mark 9:47). Jesus Christ is making the things complete – your hand, foot and eye. For the eye, somebody that always shows you the way, gives you relevant information and illumination; But if illumination will make you sin, tell lies or lose your soul, separate from them, however dedicated, precious and visionary like your eye they may be. Don’t be yoked with evil. Nobody knows your temptation or predicament like you yourself. When your spouse cut offs from that individual that causes him or her to go astray, you don’t go to bring that individual back into the family to continue to affect your spouse; Let go of that person; give no room to sentiment. Getting to heaven is a personal decision. Objects of sin, temptation, compromise, falling, that will hinder you from having real commitment to the truth and holiness and will lead you into errors, falsehood, sin, deception, you will cut them off with determination and firmness that they will not pull you into hell. “Wherefore if thy hand or thy foot offend thee, cut them off, and cast them from thee: it is better for thee to enter into life halt or maimed, rather than having two hands or two feet to be cast into everlasting fire. And if thine eye offend thee, pluck it out, and cast it from thee: it is better for thee to enter into life with one eye, rather than having two eyes to be cast into hell fire” (Matthew 18:8,9). See how many times the Lord repeated this. You will not go to hell, you will separate from them. You will not be a beggar; God will supply every need of your life if you can pray. Whatever progress you cannot make without a sin partner, leave that progress alone, and let God Himself promote you. “We know that whosoever is born of God sinneth not; but he that is begotten of God keepeth himself, and that wicked one toucheth him not” (1 John 5:18). That wicked one will not touch you, and you will not sit in the place that wicked people will cover or imprison you in their evil in Jesus Name. Heaven, that is your home, hope and destiny.

Point 3. THEIR DECREED SUFFERING WITH ETERNAL TORMENT

Mark 9:44,46,48-50; Matthew 13:41-42,49-50; 25:41; Revelations 14:10-11; 19:20; 20:10; 21:8

The eternal suffering of sinners is decreed by the Almighty God and cannot be changed, just like during the Military Administration, when a decree is promulgated, you cannot change it, but you have to comply with it.  I pray that God will abide with every one of us, multiply His grace in our lives that we will not be part of that decreed suffering. His grace will make us escape all the doom and devastation of the people that walk in the broad way leading to hell.  “For every one shall be salted with fire, and every sacrifice shall be salted with salt” (Mark 9:49). In the olden days salt was used as a preservative for things like meat. What the Lord is saying here is that those that die in their sin, will go to hell fire, and the fire in hell will be like salt to preserve them to go through the torment of hell forever and ever. They will never die neither will their worms and will suffer eternally. “The Son of man shall send forth his angels, and they shall gather out of his kingdom all things that offend, and them which do iniquity” (Matthew 13:41). The people hiding in the household of faith and teaching unbelief, iniquity and defilement will be gathered and sent to hell. Hell is not a joking matter. When people get there, it is forever and ever; they will weep, wail and suffer eternally. Whatever it will take, you will not get to hell, you will repent and cut off that that “hand”, remain in righteousness, truthful and uncompromising to the Lord in Jesus Name. “Then shall he say also unto them on the left hand, Depart from me, ye cursed, into everlasting fire, prepared for the devil and his angels” (Matthew 25:41). Hell fire is not prepared for you, and you will not go there. You will not sit on Satan’s seat, nor join in his place, hell is not for you, and you will not go there in Jesus Name. The people who are doing Satan’s work for him in the house of God, and in the world that God has created, who are more faithful to Satan than to the Almighty God, who use objects from Satan to make the saints of God fall, they will be and live with Satan forever and ever. But you will live with God forever and ever. Miracles without holiness are from the devil, and you will not receive miracles from the devil.  “And the devil that deceived them was cast into the lake of fire and brimstone, where the beast and the false prophet are, and shall be tormented day and night for ever and ever” (Revelations 20:10). Satan, false prophets, people who are beastly-natured, and all those whose names are not written in the Book of Life will be cast into hell. “But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death” (Revelations 21:8). You must repent and do away with all those things that want to pull you into hell. We are going to Heaven. “And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire” (Revelations 20:15).  Whosever – leader, pastor, teacher anyone gambling with sin, will be cast into the lake of fire. Where will you spend your eternity?

Ponder on this! Hell is not a joking matter. When people get there, it is forever and ever; they will weep, wail and suffer eternally. Whatever it will take, you will not get to hell, you will repent, and cut off that that “hand”, remain in righteousness, truthful and uncompromising to the Lord, in Jesus Name. Ponder on this!  The people who are doing Satan’s work for him, in the house of God, and in the world that God has created, who are more faithful to Satan than to the Almighty God, who use objects from Satan to make the saints of God fall, they will be and live with Satan forever and ever.  Pastor (Dr) W.F Kumuyi.
