Study 31 – THE NECESSITY OF THE SECOND TOUCH (2)

Study 31 – THE NECESSITY OF THE SECOND TOUCH (2)

Point 3. A CLEAR REMINDER – NEED FOR THE SECOND TRANSFORMATION

Mark 8:31-33; Luke 9:44-45; 18:31-34; 24:25-27,44-46; John 16:12,13; Philippians 2:3-5; Hebrews 10:14-16; 1 Thessalonians 3:10; 1:3; 2 Corinthians 1:15

What happened to Peter was a clear reminder to him and to us that we need the second touch. “But when he had turned about and looked on his disciples, he rebuked Peter, saying, Get thee behind me, Satan: for thou savourest not the things that be of God, but the things that be of men” (Mark 8:33). Peter lent his mind to Satan, who was in disagreement with Jesus, to discourage, disagree, contradict, oppose and argue with Christ, that He will not die for humanity, not be the Saviour of the world, but the provider, supplier and healer of the twelve disciples only. You see, his eyes had been touched and he saw Christ in a limited way, but he needed a second touch to know that Christ had to die for the sins of the whole world, that many people will come unto the Lord. That was why the Lord rebuked Satan that was behind that argument. Peter was saved but not in total agreement with Christ. He saw Christ dimly, not to perfection. “Let these sayings sink down into your ears: for the Son of man shall be delivered into the hands of men. But they understood not this saying, and it was hid from them, that they perceived it not: and they feared to ask him of that saying” (Luke 9:44-45). Christ repeated it again, that He came to die for the sins of humanity, but they did not understand. Even though the prophets in the Old Testament had prophesied this, yet the disciples did not understand the sayings. They did not ask any question; they just did not agreed with His sayings. They needed a second touch spiritually. Are there things that you read in the word of God, the teachings and sayings of Christ, and your mind is not there and you do not agree with His teachings? You need a second touch of your mind so that you can live in conformity and agreement with the word of God, especially concerning His Second coming and the Rapture. There are times that the Lord speaks to His church, and yet we cannot see nor hear His voice. Like Abraham who stretched out his hand to kill his only son Isaac as a sacrifice unto the God, but the Lord had provided the lamb for him to use. It took an angel to restraint him from killing the child. Wait for the second voice. If you are spiritual, you must understand that He touched you the first time, He wants to touch again; spoke the first time, He wants to speak a second time.  I pray that you will not miss the second touch.  “And they understood none of these things: and this saying was hid from them, neither knew they the things which were spoken” (Luke 18:34). There are people who come to the Bible Study with preconceived ideas and mindset, that they closeup their minds to the deeper revelation from God, and they remain ignorant. But you will not remain ignorant after this Bible Study. The Lord will give us better and greater understand, He will touch us afresh and we will see what He wants us to see and know in Jesus’ name

“And beginning at Moses and all the prophets, he expounded unto them in all the scriptures the things concerning himself” (Luke 24:27). They were with Him for three and half years, and He still expounded the scriptures to them. There are people who will not come to the Bible Study because they had been in the Church for so many years and think they know it all. Thank God for those who have come and will keep on coming, the Lord will continue to open your understanding as you read the Scriptures and you will not be disappointed in Jesus’ name. “Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth: for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak: and he will shew you things to come” (John 16:13). The Spirit will guide you into all truth. The second touch, illumination, and the opening of your eyes will come.

At this time, Peter did not have the mind of Christ, even though he was born again and had revelations; something was still missing. If he had the mind of Christ, he would have agreed with the message and revelation of Christ about His suffering and atonement on the Cross for the sins of humanity. Peter was just thinking about himself and his local needs. There are people like that who do not think of the broader needs of humanity around them (Philippians 2:3). Let Him touch you again so that you will have the mind of Christ and look beyond your local assembly, “Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus” (Philippians 2:5). When He touches us the second time, the very mind, will and purpose of Christ will be ours. After we are saved, we need the second touch which is sanctification, and it is at this time, we have the mind of Christ. “For by one offering he hath perfected for ever them that are sanctified. Whereof the Holy Ghost also is a witness to us: for after that he had said before, This is the covenant that I will make with them after those days, saith the Lord, I will put my laws into their hearts, and in their minds will I write them (Hebrews 10:14-16). This was the experience that was lacking in Peter at that time that made him to argue with Christ.  There are people who say they are saved, but the word and will of God have not been perfected in them. But a second touch is coming. The Thessalonians had faith that saved them but needed perfection (1 Thessalonians 1:3), and Paul wanted to perfect that which was lacking in their faith, “Night and day praying exceedingly that we might see your face, and might perfect that which is lacking in your faith?” (1 Thessalonians 3:10). And then see the result of that second coming, “We are bound to thank God always for you, brethren, as it is meet, because that your faith groweth exceedingly, and the charity of every one of you all toward each other aboundeth” (2 Thessalonians 1:3). Their faith had grown exceedingly and their charity abounded. The Lord will grant you the second touch, blessing and benefit; and whatever you had before, there is going to be a multiplication and brightening up, “And in this confidence I was minded to come unto you before, that ye might have a second benefit” (2 Corinthians 1:15). You need something more, your eyes, minds, hearts, Christian experiences need something more, God will touch you again.  You are in line for a second touch, blessing and benefit. Don’t go until this happens in your life in Jesus’ name.

Ponder on this! The time has come that every child and servant of God will receive the second touch. He will open our eyes again and give us new vision, and whatever we have got before, He will give us more. Things are going to be clearer and better in your sight, vision, understanding, and focus on the Lord. Pastor (Dr) W.F Kumuyi.

Ponder on this!  He has touched you before, He will touch you again; He has saved before, He will sanctify you; He has healed you before, He will heal you again; He has done the first touch and transformation, and a second one is coming today. Pastor (Dr) W.F Kumuyi.

Ponder on this!  If you are spiritual, you must understand that He touched you the first time, He wants to touch again; spoke the first time, He wants to speak a second time.  I pray that you will not miss the second touch. Pastor (Dr) W.F Kumuyi.

Hard Sayings – Peter saw Christ dimly, he did not see Him unto perfection. Pastor (Dr) W.F Kumuyi.

Reflection – Some Christians become stale and superficial because the one touch the Lord gave them many years ago is what they are still talking about. They are too busy to learn and search for more, until the effect of the first touch wears off. They do not understand that there is still the second touch Pastor (Dr) W.F Kumuyi.

Words on the Marble – There are people who say they are saved, but the word and will of God have not been perfected in them. Pastor (Dr) W.F Kumuyi.

Key Words – It is revelation come from God when we know that Jesus is the Son of God, and the Only Saviour and Redeemer. Pastor (Dr) W.F Kumuyi.
